It’s story time!
I always have loved a good story. They come in all shapes and sizes.
Ernest Hemingway wrote a poignant story of love and loss in a mere six short, simple words. Canadian singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot took six and a half minutes to tell us about “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” And in 1962, director David Lean gave us “Lawrence of Arabia,” the epic film about T.E. Lawrence, at four hours and 45 minutes.

Stories come in all shapes and sizes. A good story isn’t about a form or a formula. Nope, a good story is all about the feels.
We all have that book we go back to and reread from time to time. Or that movie we will drop everything for and watch to the end, regardless of at what point in the plot we find it. And who doesn’t have that go-to song they put on repeat and crank up to 11 when a certain mood strikes?
When I was a kid, I often entered a room proclaiming that I had “some good news and some bad news.” I might not have had any news at all. I just wanted to share a story.
That’s what I want to do here. I’ll share my reviews of movies, music, and pop culture. I’ll share interesting historical tidbits I discover. I’ll share dad jokes and amusing anecdotes.
I’ll invite you to share some of your stories with me along the way. And maybe, just maybe, we can all meet on that common ground where we find we are far more alike than we are different.
